Men’s and Women’s Japanese Jiu Jitsu Course now starting.

T. Rose’s Karate Dojo is proud to expand our curriculum by offering Japanese Jiu Jitsu.

This course is being offered to both current and new students.

Jiu Jitsu was developed to combat the samurai of Feudal Japan as a method for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon. Because striking against an armored opponent proved ineffective, practitioners learned that the most efficient methods for neutralizing an enemy that took the form of pins, joint locks, and throws. These techniques were developed around the principle of using an attacker’s energy against him, rather than directly opposing it. Jiu Jitsu as a alone stand art form is powerful but combined with Uechi-ryu karate provides a truly unique self defense platform as the two are complimentary.

Woman’s Jiu Jitsu:  Learn to defend from hands on positions.  Course will teach basic, locks, escapes, and chokes.  This course will be tailored to women’s specific self defense needs!  The course is currently scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 (this time can be edited depending on the needs of the group).

Men’s Jiu Jitsu:  This course will provide an alternative to striking!  The course will train students in the basic locks, escapes and chokes needed to subdue a hostile person.

This course is currently scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 (this time can be edited depending on the needs of the group).
